Cheyenne Frontier Days Names New Committee Chairs for 113th Annual Celebration
Cheyenne (CFD) -- The Cheyenne Frontier Days General Committee named the committee members for the 2009 celebration at a meeting last night. Off-going committee chairs are Rod Hottle, Security committee; Bob Reynolds, Tickets committee; Darin Westby, Concessions committee; Lynne Boomgaarden, Indians committee.
Replacing Rod Hottle as Security Chairman is Doug Elgin. Elgin is a Professional Land Surveyor for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. He attended the Newark College of Engineering and Auburn's Continuing Education program, and has served in the United State Air Force. He is a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Wyoming and Colorado, the Wyoming Jaycees and the Masonic Lodge of Burns. Elgin has been involved with the Security Committee for 20 years, and is a member of the Heels Organization.
Following Bob Reynolds as Tickets Chairman is Jim Gorman. Gorman is the General Manager of the Albany Restaurant Bar and Liquormart. He is a graduate of East High School here in Cheyenne. He is a member of the Cowboy Joe Club. Gorman has been involved with the Tickets Committee for 30 years, and is a member of the Heels Organization.
Replacing Darin Westby as Concessions Chairman is Matt Jones. Jones is a Master Sergeant in the Wyoming Air National Guard. Jones served in the United States Air Force for nine years before joining the Wyoming Air National Guard in 1997, where he is a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He was the Cheyenne Frontier Days Volunteer of the Year in 2003. Jones has been on the Concessions Committee for 12 years, and is a member of the Heels Organization.
Following Indians Chairman Lynne Boomgaarden is Jackie Smith. Smith is currently retired. Smith holds a BA from the University of Iowa and an MS from the University of Southern California. He served in the United States Air Force for 29 years, and he is a member and past president of the Cheyenne Guitar Society. Smith has been on the Indians Committee for seven years.
